This cottage, along with other holiday homes, is situated in a quiet park on the outskirts of town, near the shore of Lake Machov. This is the best known and most popular recreational area in central Bohemia. It is situated between the larger cities of Eská Lipa and Mladé Boleslav. -- Shops can be found in the town of Doksy, just 500 meters away. -- The cottage is situated in a garden which includes a terrace under the shade of a cherry tree. Here you can unwind or just sit and relax for a few moments while you are between activities. If you are looking for an active holiday with (water) sports you are in the right place. -- Cars can be parked on site.

Even if the house is small, you have a lot more options (for example, use of another shower room) in consultation with the owners.The room has a kitchen which is equipped equipped with two electric hotplates, a coffeemaker and a large electric cooler. At the window there is a dining area with a radio and in the corner there are 2 beds. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, washbasin and hair dryer. For a small fee you may use the bathroom in the house of the owner which has a bathtub and an extra shower. The house has electric heating. In consultation with the owners you can use (for free) their dishwashers and garage to store bicycles, etc. In case of bad weather, you can sit by the fireplace and play on a table (the table is in the basement). For the use of the washing machine and iron and ironing board, there is a small charge. A lavish breakfast can be ordered as well.

Lake Máchov - 600 meters away - was named after the romantic poet Karel Máchov who wrote his poem "May" here. Originally created (1366) as a fishing pond (the largest in Bohemia), it is now the largest water sports center in northern Bohemia. Here it is impossible to be bored: boating, surfing, mini-golf, football, volleyball, beach ball, bungee jumping, playground equipment, trees to climb, play chess on a big chess board, slides and sledding. There are tour boats and boat traffic between the towns on the lake. Four beaches and lots of lawn are available for sunbathing. - In the pine forests you can go for a wonderful hike. The lake has small islands and the Muizen Eenden- a bird sanctuary. - From the market square in the town there are 7 marked cycling routes from 18 to 52 km in length. Two of them are suitable for families with comfortable cycling, three are of intermediate difficulty and two will present a real challenge for the experienced cyclist. - You can go bowling in the football stadium of the town. - In Vrchovanech you can rent horses (± 10 € p.u.). - You can take trips into the surrounding area on foot or by bike. For example, you can visit Bezděz Castle, the symbol of the Máchov region. From the castle tower you have a wonderful view. - Stare splavy: a recreational center at the sea of Máchov. - Braniborská caves, cliffs, a rocky canyon and a marked trail south of Stare Splavy. - The Gothic-Renaissance palace of Houska with precious frescoes. According to one legend the castle chapel stood at the gates to hell. - Ralsko Castle: Ruins of an ancient fortress with a magnificent view of Bezděz. - The Czech highlands, the Lužic and Jizera Mountains, Ještěd and the Czech Paradise in the land of Máchov.
