At the foot of the Lauwersmeer National Park you will find the unique holiday farm of "Rintjeshoek". The accommodation has space for 2 to 26 persons and is also very appropriate as a facility for holding courses, garden workshops and festivals. It is a former apartment guard dike at the bottom of the "slaperdijk. It has a 5,130 m2 garden encircled by trees. Horse stalls and a stable, a large pond, a fire station, bathhouse and studio space are also located here. On the dike there is the only former 'customs house' in the Netherlands. A unique location for bird watchers and nature lovers! Magnificent views! The interior was entirely rebuilt - nostalgic open kitchen and living room, 5 bedrooms, a side room with a piano. Rintjeshoek consists of several buildings: First there is the house itself, which despite all the renovations and updates still emanates the atmosphere of bygone days. Inside there is a lot of woodwork, which creates a warm and natural ambiance. Then there are the so-called "house calves"
. This wonderful small stable of traditional brick now offers an extra shower, a bath with shower, three sinks and two toilets. Moreover, even outside there is a sideboard with two washing facilities and an extra tap. Next there is the "Sylhok", now used as a garage / barn, but can also be used as a studio. A new floor with bedrooms for 8 persons (four double beds each- you must bring sleeping bags for these beds) was built in July 2006. The "Sylhok" is not (yet) heated, but is well insulated and has a new roof. At the back of the garden there is a horse stable, with a capacity of 2 horses or 3 ponies. In the garden you will also find a pond and a place for a campfire or barbecue. If you come at the right time, you can freely eat from the fruit trees and berry bushes. Next you will find: an upper floor with 3 bedrooms, accessible via an open staircase from the kitchen and / or a floor staircase. Below: an entrance hall; a large living room with an open kitchen complete with oven / grill and a dishwasher; 2 bedrooms; a bathroom with tub / shower, sink and toilet; a separate space for a washing machine; provisions room; chamber; adjoining room with 2 toilets; heater, central heating and gas stove; garden furniture; washing machine, grill / oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, TV (antenna), 1 water bed (big), 1 sofa (2 persons), 3 double beds, 4 single beds and 2 1-person folding beds (can even be 2 single beds) 2 children's beds, 1 highchair, central heating and gas stove; 3 showers, 1 hip bath, 1 bath, 5 toilets. No bunk beds. Downstairs is disability-friendly!

For bird lovers you cannot imagine anything better than passing geese, which let us share their freedom. The Lauwersmeer National Park is a bird sanctuary for many species of rare birds. The park offers excursions where you can admire the birds. The region of Lauwersland offers many entertainment possibilities: sailboats, swimming, horseback riding, or you can take part in a cultural excursion. Kollum is a very nice, authentic yet modern city with shops. At the tourist information center you can get all the necessary information. You can also get information in Rintjeshoek.

Conditions of the landlord:

All prices are based on 8 persons. Children up to 2 years of age are free. For more than 8 persons there is a surcharge of € 17. - per person per day. After making your reservation, the rent will be adjusted to the number of persons. Additional charges for holiday periods are different than regular surcharges. Instead of € 17,00 it is € 35,00 p.p. per day for the weekends and long weekends. In the easter weekend the surcharge is €65 pp for the whole period. In the Pentecost weekend the charges are 75 euro p.p. for the whole period. In the Christmasholidays the surcharge is from 21-23 december: 100 euro pp for the whole period. The surcharge for the period of of 24 - 26 december: 75 euro p.p. for the whole period. The surcharge for the newyears week from 27-12 -4nd of january is 100 euro p.p. for the whole period. Cost for a dog (s): € 25/week, € 20. -weekend or midweek. Cats are free of charge. The basic deposit is 200 euro for 8 persons. For each person extra owner calculates an amount of 35 euro. The deposit is doubled in the new years holiday week. Rintjeshoek cannot be rented by students. We require from each renter their passport number which serves as the tourist registration in the community. With use of the floor above the Sylhok (this is necessary above 16 persons) 20 euro extra cleaningcosts will be charged. Smoking is allowed, but only on the ground floor and not in the bedrooms. Horses and pets are welcome (by arrangement) only if the sheep and cows can tolerate them and if the owner can provide proof of liability insurance for the pet. During New Year's Eve / New Years Day the lighting of fireworks is absolutely forbidden on the property. Fireworks can only be used on the asphalt road on about 250m. The reason for the strict rules is the remoteness of the accommodation and its straw roof. If this rule is ignored the violator(s) will be liable for any resulting damage/destruction. Pets welcome (upon request) as long as they are friendly for cows and sheep) Pets are not allowed in any of the bedrooms. Pets must have liability insurance; the tenant must provide a copy of this insurance to the landlord, indicating clearly that the pet is covered. Bringing your own horse and pony on request. It is possible that the prices are deviated during Easter, Pentecost, Christmas and New Years.

If you wish to book this house for a short weekend (Friday-Sunday with departure before 18.00 hours), you will receive a discount of 100 euros on the rent price. In this case please contact us.
