Rochefort-en-Terre is a beautiful little town located in the Morbihan department of Brittany, close to Malestroit, Josselin and Ploërmel. The resort, which is open from 13/05 to 18/09, is situated around a 14 ha lake, near Rochefort-en-Terre. It is comprised of 2 hamlets: "Kerioche" and "Sous-le Bois" which lie 700 meters from a hotel with ancillary services and a restaurant. The nearest larger cities are Vannes (8 km) and Redon (26 km). You will find shops and services nearby. At your disposal are a parking area and shared barbecue. The restaurant offers themed meals and regional specialties (moules-frites, crepes and fish). Advance reservations are required! Other services include: a bar with terrace and a launderette (use for a fee). For your recreational enjoyment the resort has: a TV room, library, WiFi, courts for volleyball, badminton, petanque, basketball and tennis, table tennis, mountain bike trails, a playground for children and a heated outdoor swimming pool.
This ground-floor studio is part of the "Sous-le-Bois" hamlet. It has an area of 33 m² and is suitable for 3 persons. It consists of a living room furnished with an extensible couch and a single bed; a bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet; a fully-equipped kitchenette (mini-oven); and a terrace with garden furniture. Services available (for a fee) include: the Comfort Plus Package (beds made on arrival, towels provided, final cleaning included); final cleaning package (except kitchen and dishes) and bed linen rental. You can reserve a baby kit (only baby bath and highchair) for free (upon request.) There is also the possibility to rent an accommodation which is suitable for disabled persons.
35 kilometers east of Vannes, on a rocky hill surrounding the valley of Gueuzon, lies the little Breton town of Rochefort-en-Terre. The town displays a high homogeneity despite the different architectural styles: half-timbered houses, Gothic landmarks, renaissance hotels and 19th century architecture. The numerous half-timbered and classic French houses, some covered in wisteria others adorned with summer flowers, add to this stunningly beautiful town which has been judged to be one of the best floral towns in France. The town center is full of little alleys, steps and a cobbled walkway which leads up to a chateau which dominates the town.
You can enjoy a variety of crafts here including art shops and a glass blower, just to mention two. Be sure to visit the soap shop, a hand-decorated china shop and the bag maker.
Rochefort-en-Terre has many festivals including the Street Festival of les Loustiks de l'Akoustik which takes place in August and the Pardon de Notre Dame de la Tronchaye (also in August). In May there is the Festival of the 1920's. The Parc de Préhistoire de Bretagne at Malansac is close by so a day out with the children should include a visit to the park. This park is a visual illustration of the period of the dinosaurs and the evolution of man.
The resort lies thirty minutes (by car) from the sandy beaches of southern Brittany (like the beach of Damgan) and is just a short walk from a large lake with a sandy beach: Moulin Neuf. You can choose between a lot of activities: walking, hiking, fishing, water bicycle, horseback riding, games and activities for children (and adults), etc. Of course during your stay in Rochefort-en-Terre do not miss the beautiful castles, evidence of an auspicious time: the Chateau des Rohan; Josselin, with its three majestic towers overlooking the valley of Oust and a splendid Gothic façade; the Castle of Suscinio on the peninsula of Rhuys; and Elven Castle, famous for its monumental ruins.
Enjoy your stay in this mystical place!
