Tsjechie ligt in Centraal Europa. Na een lang proces bereikte het zijn hedendaagse zelfstandigheid in 1993, vanaf 2004 is het lidstaat van de Europese Unie.Tsjechie is een goedkoop en veelzijdig vakantieland dat zich in hoog tempo ontwikkelt. De bevolking is vriendelijk en gastvrij. De voorzieningen zijn op westers niveau: winkelcentra met een gevarieerd aanbod, geldautomaten, bezinestations. Enkele autowegen zijn tolwegen, een tolvignet kunt u kopen bij de grens en bezinestations.Het landschap is indrukwekkend met zijn prachtige loof en naaldbossen, bergen, meertjes, sprankelende beekjes en schattige dorpjes met kleurige huizen. Het is rijk aan cultuur en historie. Overal zijn burchten en kastelen te vinden, soms ruïnes maar veelal goed bewaard en toegankelijk.De natuur is nog ongerept en rijk aan bronnen, met name in het westen en het noordoostelijke deel van Tsjechie zijn veel kuurbadplaatsen.Fiets en wandeltoerisme is hoog ontwikkeld, met meer dan 17.000 km gemarkeerde paden. Er zijn speciale rivierroutes, wijn en bierroutes en de bekende EuroVelo routes nr. 6, 7 en 9, die Europese landen met elkaar verbinden.Tsjechie is omgeven door middelhoge gebergten.
