The holiday parks in the Czech Republic are the best starting point for your expedition through this versatile country.

Prague and its wonders

Prague is an absolute must see, this city on the banks of the Moldau river is full of impressive historical monuments. For this reason UNESCO has placed the whole inner city on the world heritage list. You will see tourist from all over the world strolling around with their camera at the ready, every direction you look is picture perfect. The old square holds hordes of tourists taking pictures of the astronomical clock. The Wenceslas Square is the largest square in Europe and you’ll find the National Museum and Our Lady of the Snow church here.
The Charles bridge over the Moldau is by far the most famous bridge in town and it’s used often as illustration for Prague in magazines. The various palaces in the quarter Malá Strana are often used as embassies nowadays. The Jewish quarter shows memories of the Jewish inhabitants of Prague with, amongst others, the Jewish cemetery where author Franz Kafka found his final resting place. The famous Prague Castle was built in the first half of the 9th century and a century later the first catholic churches were built. Vratislav II built a second castle on the other side of the Moldau river, including the famous Church of St Peter and Paul. All gems of this city.

Exploring nature

Nature is never far away from a holiday park in the Czech Republic. Beautiful untouched nature spreads out all across the country. National Park Sumava (Bohemian Forest) is located in the south of the Czech Republic. This park of almost 70.000 hectares is the largest national park in the country. Until 1990 the Bohemian Forest was only accessible to border patrol, keeping the forest untouched and thus allowing you to experience it in its original state. The highest peak in the national park is the mountain Plechy, right on the Austrian border. Its 1378m make it a tough climb for hikers, but the view at the top is more than worth it.

Holidays in the Giant Mountains

Another popular destination are the Giant Mountains, with the Snezka as highest point. In summer an ideal place for hiking and mountain biking and in winter one of the best ski resorts in the Czech Republic. We recommend to visit National Park Krkonose from the bungalow parks in the area, a rich biosphere reserve with a diverse flora and fauna. When hiking through the park you may run into old ruins and chapels from old times, when this area was inhabited.

A wide range of cultural attractions
A holiday park in the Czech Republic is the affordable way to discover the cultural treasures of Bohemia! In the Czech Republic, cultural opportunities abound, but a visit to Prague, the nation's capital, is a great place to start you adventure. Prague Castle is a very popular attraction and dates from the 9th century. It was once a huge palace complex, the largest in the world, and home to presidents, kings and Holy Roman emperors. The changing of the guard is a great attraction for both young and old, and takes place at 12:00 noon each day. Of course Prague is not the only city worth visiting. Towns like Harrachov, Spindleruv Mlyn and Cesky Krumlov, a small town with a huge church, St. Vitus Cathedral are equally charming and welcoming. This area is also well known for its Bohemian glass and crystal. There are many shops where you can pick up a special souvenir, and the Doxa Gallery has beautiful and modern glass art. Start the cultural treasure hunt with a holiday in the Czech Republic.

From skiing to shopping
A winter holiday in the Czech Republic is always special. Spindleruv Mlyn is one of the country's larger ski areas, with 25 km of ski runs suitable for both the beginner and more advanced skier. You can even take ski lessons and rent ski equipment. The most famous ski area in the Czech Republic is located in Harrachov. In the area there are of course smaller ski resorts and the apres-ski is very well organized. In the warmer months you can go horseback riding in the countryside or spend your time practicing water sports at reservoirs such as Lipno Lake. Walking around among nature is a relaxing way of getting detached from the hustle and bustle in the city, while mountain biking among nature is a challenge as well as a wonderful experience here. Another way to spend your time actively is to go shopping, an activity that is well known and beloved by so many. You can go shopping on a small scale with a visit to a weekly market in a village or on a larger scale in Prague. You just have to make the great "effort" of choosing what best suits your mood.
