The region of Silesia is to be found in the southwestern part of Poland, with the northern plains along the River Odra, a well-developed agriculture, orchards, forests. The capital of the area is Wroclaw, thus a holiday home in Silesia will set you among some great historical sights. This city of Wroclaw, a wonderful destination in its all, has numerous buildings that have been renovated or rebuilt after being destroyed during World War II. There are five major rivers flowing through the city, which explains the large number of bridges here. Swidnica is a beautiful city that you can also visit during a holiday in Silesia, it was the capital of the principality in the past, and you will find the Three Churches of Peace here, built out of wood, mud and straw outside the city walls without towers and church bells. The old castle of Piast has the interesting shape of a water droplet. The Bolkow Castle houses a legend of the WWII and was a scientific center for the Nazis. Poland is rich in culture and history.

From the holiday homes in Silesia you can explore the area in various ways. The Tafelbergen National Park has mountains with boulders of up to 12m deep. The sandstone cliffs have some really impressive shapes here. There is a staircase of 665 steps, carved into the rock up to the summit, it is surely worth the effort of climbing it though. You will find several hiking trails here as well. In Warmia and Mazoery you can spot white storks. There is a special observation tower from where you can admire the beautiful birds. The Siemianowka reservoir is a marshy area where more than 100 species of birds feel very much at home. Bird Land is a complex of lakes full of fish in the river Barycza, a paradise for water and mud birds as well. Chelm is the only chalk underworld. In the Chelmska mountain there is a Greek Catholic church worth visiting on a holiday in Silesia. There is a tourist route of 2km in length of underground tunnels at a depth of 27m under the mansions, an old chalk mine in the form of a labyrinth of rooms and corridors.
