This holiday village is situated on the outskirts of the open-air spa of Oberaula, among the rolling hills which lie between Bad Hersfeld and Kassel. Far from traffic and noise, these tasteful vacation houses invite you for a relaxing holiday weekend / family vacation in a beautiful wooded environment. Well-marked hiking and cycling paths will guide you through the quiet forests, romantic valleys and sunny highlights of the beautiful Knüllgebergte. The resort offers spacious detached cottages for 5, 7 or 9 persons. You'll find several central facilities including a restaurant with a beer garden. Expect good food to suit every taste and at very affordable prices. Upon request you can breakfast as well as half or full board. There is a reception desk with bicycle rental, a bowling alley, playground, tennis court and a sports and leisure room with a table tennis table. During the high season there is a little entertainment program for children. The 2 nearby recreational lakes invite both young and old to enjoy the water. You can also fish here for a small fee. Located approximately 2 km away is an 18-hole / par 72 golf course (Golf Kurhessischer Oberaula) and the swimming pool of Oberaula.

This spacious (type 3) apartment is situated on a hillside and has a living area of approximately 108m2. It is a suitable accommodation for 2-9 persons. In the living room there is a seating area with a TV and a fireplace for those pleasant evening hours. The kitchen is luxuriously equipped with a 4-burner electric stove, fridge, oven and coffeemaker and includes a dining area with dining table. On the ground floor you will find: one bedroom furnished with a double bed and another bedroom furnished with a bunk bed and a single bed, a storage closet and a bathroom equipped with a bathtub and toilet. The first floor contains a studio with a couch, a bed, TV and balcony. Next to the bathroom on the second floor there is the fourth bedroom which is furnished with two single beds. Each cottage has been individually decorated and is cozy and comfortable. Nearby there is a parking place and a private terrace (of course, there is also ample garden furniture) - perfect for a barbecue on one of those balmy summer evenings!

Oberaula is located in the undulating landscape of the mountains of Kurhessisch. Here you can find many picturesque medieval villages as well as hiking and cycling trails and a complete state-approved climatic health resort. The capital of the region is Homberg (20 km), which lies at the gateway to the Knüllgebergte. As a recreation and vacation area it is a very popular mid-mountain range. With its 20 districts, Homberg looks back on a historic and eventful past. The cityscape is characterized by St. Marien Church, which is one of the largest Gothic hall churches in Hesse. In addition to activities at the holiday park, the area also offers a number of other possibilities. For example, a visit to the ancient settlement of Fritzlar (50 km) is certainly worthwhile. Surrounded by walls and towers, this medieval town is located on the steep banks of the Eder River. Crowned by a facade with twin towers, the city is a pearl of medieval towns in Hesse. You can also visit the beautiful castle of Wartburg which is situated on a hill 441 meters above the town of Eisenach (Thuringia). It makes for an interesting day trip. Other tips for trips: hike to the highest point in the province, the Eisenberg (5 km away); visit a beautiful medieval castle in Bad Hersfeld (20 km); or spend a relaxing day at the Silbersee in Kirchheim (20 minutes away by car). The large (spa) city of Kassel (65km) is definitely worth a visit. This vibrant city has much to offer, including museums, castles (castle of Wilhelmshöhe, Löwen-burg) and large parks with gardens and fountains, waterfalls and other water games. Kassel also offers numerous events such as Documenta, an international art exhibition held every 5 years since 1955. It is the most important exhibition of contemporary art in Western Europe. The woods around Oberaula have a number of mountain biking trails. With enough snow, there are limited opportunities for skiing at the nearby ski resorts of Knüllköpfchen in Neuenstein, with two lifts and two trails. You will also find “Wildpark Knüll” at a distance of 10 km. In short, you will not have time to be bored in Hesse!
