At the foot of the Grandes Rousses mountains at 1860m, Alpe d’Huez, nicknamed "l’île au soleil" (Island of the Sun), offers the most wonderful views over the Parc National des Ecrins and the stunning Oisans summits: the Meije, the Rateau, the Muzelle, the Aiguilles d’Arves, the Belledonne mountain range and the Mont Blanc.
Return ski possible by a blue slope with snow canons.

Interior
The spacious Chalet De Louis (130 m²) sleeps up to 10 people and has its own private entrance. This comfortable chalet is equipped with fitted kitchen, large dining room/living room, 4 bedrooms (each with private shower room and toilet) and a hot tub on one of the 2 terraces with fantastic views.

Alpe d’Huez ski resort is a particularly sunny ski resort in the French Alps with over 300 days of sunshine per year which has earned its nickname « Ile au soleil » (island in the sun)! Alpe d’Huez at an altitude of 1860 m, offers a magnificent view over the famous peaks of the Oisans region: the Meije, the Mont Blanc and the Aiguilles d’Arves. Alpe d’Huez is a top destination for all ski and snowboard fans, with an altitude drop of over 2200m and a choice of over 250 km of ski slopes.

French ski school 'Chalet des Enfants': An area of 250 sqm, dedicated to skiing, games and creative activities, taking up to 45 children aged from two and a half. The children are also introduced to the mountain environment and at the end of the week, come away with their medal for skiing and a little book about life in the mountains.
The Piou Piou Club, next to the child-minding chalet, houses 2 magic carpets and a snow-rope.

Tourist tax 1.65 €/ day to be paid on arrival: amount/person/day (valid for all guests from 12 years old).

Remarks
Great chalet, modern and in super condition. It's no more than a couple of hundred metres (less than 5 minutes walk in ski boots) from the cable car to Alpe d'Huez, which then takes a few minutes to the main slopes. You scan ski back to the lift station. The village of Huez (not Alpe d'Huez) is very quiet, so you need to get everything from Alpe d'Huez. As a result, you get much more chalet for the money, but compromise slightly on accessibility. 10 of us (3 families) had a great time.
