Location
Villa Panorama is situated in the Giant Mountains, in the southwestern part of Poland, close to the Czech border. This villa in a quiet neighborhood offers a wonderful view (as the name would suggest!). The house can accommodate up to 20 persons. This holiday home, built in 1935, was fully renovated in 2005 / 2006 but still retains its “original character” (old ovens, doors and cupboards for example). It stands on a large parcel of land which includes a private parking lot. You will find a small brook about 50 meters from the house. The property lies on the edge of the forest where you can easily spot deer, boar, lots of fox and various birds of prey. In the winter you can take a refreshing hike through the snow or go skiing at one of the neighboring ski centers. Snow tires are obligatory in the winter and we strongly recommend bringing skid chains with you as well. Don’t forget to bring enough food and drink for the road. Upon request, a freshly-cooked (Polish) meal can be arranged (breakfast and/or dinner). All requested dishes will be prepared using organic products (among others, homemade honey, jam and bread). The meat products originate from the best butcher shops in the region.
Interior
This three-story holiday home is provided with all the conveniences. On the ground floor there is a living room where you can enjoy the fireplace on a cool evening. The living room also has a satellite TV, DVD-player and stereo. In the dining room there is a nice German heater. The modern kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, a fridge - freezer combo, an electric kettle, a coffeemaker, an electric stove and an antique German oven. On this floor there is also a double bedroom, a bathroom with a shower and toilet and a separate lavatory. There is also a storage room for bicycles and skis. On the first floor there are 4 double bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower, a double washbasin and a toilet. In addition there is a spacious living room with a balcony. On the second floor there is a large bedroom suitable for 5 persons and 2 double bedrooms. You will find a third bathroom as well, equipped with a shower, a bathtub and a double washbasin. There is another living room on this floor. This floor offers space for 1 extra bed. The house is well insulated and all of the plumbing has been replaced. The villa has access to crisp, clear mountain water that can be used for drinking. It has been further purified by a hydrant booster and filter. The walls of this house are 60 cm thick and well insulated, which keeps the rooms on all floors pleasantly warm in winter. The cellar is so cold that you can easily store your food in it!
Surroundings
In the wintertime you can reach the nearest ski area in approx. 15 minutes (this is situated in Swieradow Zdroj and has 3 ski lifts). You can also go to Szklarska Poreba (20 km) with its 15 km of ski runss and 20 lifts. In Karpacz there are 20 lifts and 7 km of tracks. The holiday villa is situated very close to the border, which means that you can also ski on the Czech side of the Giant Mountains. The surroundings are very suitable for cross-country skiing. For culture fans this region offers numerous sights including the fortress of Czocha, castle of Frydlant (the Czech Republic, 20 km) or one of the oldest breweries at Neder Silesie, Lwowek Slaski (founded in 1209). The most significant of the remaining castles are: Chojnik (close to Piechowice), Wlen, Karpniki, Bolczów, Bolków and Lomnica. In addition, there is a convent in Kreszów; a museum and former concentration camps of Gross Rosen and Wolimierz; an artists’ village, famous for its alternative theatre; and printing workshops in the old train station (West) – all of these are certainly worth a visit. There are many interesting towns in the neighborhood such as “Jelenia Góra” (25 km), a splendid old town with a magnificent market place, old churches and an original glass and community museum. “Cieplice” (20 km) is a quiet resort with a pedestrianized street, a palace, a spa, 2 monumental churches and a natural science museum. “Swieradów Zdrój” (8 km) is a prominent resort with a romantic ‘Wanderhalle’ and wonderful parks. It lies at the foot of the Jizera Mountains. “Lesna” (20 km) is a lovely little town with 2 impressive castles. Also in the neighbourhood: Czocha and Swiecie. “Szklarska Poreba” (15 km) and “Karpacz” (20 km) are two tourist centers with chair lifts to the Giant Mountains. These are attractive Polish destinations cluttered with countless souvenir shops. In Karpacz you will find the famous stave Wang church (the ancient Norwegian church). Thanks to the central location of the house, you can easily undertake trips (for more than one day) to Prague, Wroclaw, Dresden and Görlitz. In the Czech town of Liberec (40km) you will find Europe’s largest indoor swimming paradise.

Conditions of the landlord:
Smoking in the house is prohibited. Arrival is from 15.00 p.m. Departure is by 11.00 a.m. Maximum 2 pets allowed upon request. If you book for 3 weeks or more, you will receive at least a 10% discount off the rental price. Prices for longterm rent or periods shorter then a week are available upon request. You have the option to arrange breakfast and dinner (no lunch)in advance. Breakfast consists of several types of bread, cheese, meat, coffee or tea and (mostly) eggs. All the food is fresh and is prepared by a cook. The food is local, which means it is nutritious and more then sufficient, but not spicy. Please place your order while making your booking. It is possible to order this later, but no more then latest two days before arrival. Because of the rural location, there are no internet options on site. Nearest internet location on approximately 8 kilometers.
