The detached "La Mimbre" farmhouse has an area of about 31 m2 and can accommodate 2 persons. The interior is rustic, decorated in typical Alpujareño style. The layout is as follows: a bedroom furnished with two single beds, a kitchen-living room and 1 bathroom. The house has a TV, central heating, a fireplace and washing machine. The kitchen is equipped with a 2-burner gas stove, microwave and fridge plus sufficient kitchen utensils. Bed linen and towels are available. In the garden surrounded by lush vegetation you will find a barbecue, common swimming pool and garden furniture.
The name of the village, Lanjarón, is invariably associated with water. Not surprisingly since there are numerous springs here, all nourished by the Sierra Nevada's snow, which is situated within the municipality. Among the landmarks worth mentioning are the spa building (constructed during the first half of the 20th century in Neo-Mudejar style) with it's two flanking towers; the church built during the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries under the patronage of Our Lady of the Incarnation (built to replace the church previously burned down as a result of the events of 1568); a castle ruin (although you can't really call it a castle as only the exterirr walls remain) located outside the urban center of the village. El Castaño is situated halfway between the Mediterranean Sea and the Sierra Nevada, which assures a wonderful climate. In addition, it is part of the Granada Alpujarra, and is close to picturesque villages like Pampaneira, Bubión and Capileira.
The Sierra Nevada ski resort is located about 62 km from the house. With a length of 104,731 km, the station has slopes for beginners and experts: green (17) blue (40) red (52) and black (7). In addition, the Sierra Nevada offers plenty of services: several restaurants, kiosks, pizzeria, snack shop, five guarded parkings, ski storage, bus service, childcare, entertainment programs and English courses for children, equipment rental, Ski and snowboard lessons, apre-ski, etc...
