Location
Near Waren / Müritz, in the heart of the Mecklenburg Lake District, in the Nossentiner / Schwinzer Heath Natural Park on the edge of what is known as Mecklenburg Switzerland, lies the lovingly restored and magnificent Blücherhof manor. Right next to the manor, across from the castle and famous dendrological Schlopark with more than 140 different tree and shrub species, stands the estate house which is equipped with every comfort, and is where you will find this 64 square meter apartment. The manor and park were made into a summer residence in the beginning of the 20th century by the famous zoologist / dendrologist Prof. Alexander Koenig. Guests can use the sauna, billiards and table tennis tables in the main house. Bicycles and row boats can be rented. There is plenty of secure parking for guests. The estate's "Dubenhus" café is the perfect place to try the already famous homemade pies, coffee and tea, or a delicious breakfast. For children there is a large garden and a natural playground at their disposal.
The area is a paradise for nature lovers with many biking and hiking trails and beautiful clean lakes.
Interior
In the main building of the inn, a former farmhouse, there is a stately hall. The famous Mecklenburg artist Sieghardt Dittner painted murals from Mecklenburg’s past on the walls and his faithful restoration using modern fixtures and stainless steel has made this hall an impressive setting with great acoustics - ideal for families, group parties or events for up to 60 persons. For smaller groups, we have a coffee shop and other meeting rooms suitable for seminars or shared merriment.
Surroundings
Here you will experience wonderful, unspoilt nature along with plenty of tranquility. The area is characterized by well-developed bike trails very well suited to cycling. Anyone looking for a challenge can traverse the hilly Mecklenburg Switzerland by bike. There are also the international long distance cycling routes of Berlin - Copenhagen, the cycling routes of the Mecklenburg Lake District – Rugen, Blaus Müritzband, Ice Age Route Mecklenburg Lake District, and the Castle Tour which leads past Blücherhof. Those who put more emphasis on relaxing while cycling can remain at the beautiful lakes and unwind. Opportunities for hiking abound. The water quality of lakes is very good and there are many, sometimes very lonely, beaches. Excellent for swimming or diving or a solitary boat or fishing trip. In the courtyard you will find a large natural playground where children can play safely. Not far away, we have riding stables for equestrians. The Müritz and Fleesensee are ideal for various water sports such as sailing and canoeing. If the weather does not permit swimming, you can visit the Müritzeum in Waren with its large aquarium and a lot of interesting information on Mecklenburg’s nature and its inhabitants.
