A chalet in Alsace promises four seasons of fun!
The semi-Continental climate of Alsace makes it a great year round holiday destination. With one of the lowest precipitation rates in all of France, you won't have to worry about losing precious luggage space packing rain gear! Although winters are cold and dry, the Vosgues mountains are a great place to enjoy a range of winter sports like skiing, sledding, snowboarding and even dog sled rides. For those not keen on winter sports, you can relish the magic of a Christmas market in villages like Riquewihr or visit real reindeer at the Nordic-style farm of La Petite Finlande, both easily accessible from one of our chalets in Alsace. The arrival of spring means lots of beautiful flowers and the chance to go horseback riding at one of more than 100 equestrian establishments or in the wild. Summers are hot and perfect for a river cruise or rafting excursion while autumn means the end of summer tourism and the onset of the grape harvest. Walk or cycle along part of the 170 km Route des Vins d'Alsace and enjoy not only excellent wines, but spectacular scenery as well!
