The beautiful village of Thalfang lies on the eastern side of the Hunsrück and is an ideal starting point for excursions to the Eifel, Rhine, Moselle and Luxembourg. The more than 1,000-year-old village of Thalfang is situated at the foot of the Erbeskopf, which, at an altitude of 818 meters, makes it the highest mountain in the Rheinland-Pfalz region. In and around the village of Thalfang you'll find woods where you can breathe in some of the purest air in Germany. This spacious and beautifully situated resort offers more than 100 comfortably equipped holiday homes for 1 to 8 persons. The resort has good facilities including a reception area, restaurant with bar and terrace (also take-out options), sandwich service, child care from 3 years, bowling alleys, table tennis, washing machines, mini-golf, beauty salon and massage facilities and a playground. Plenty of hospitality in a wonderful natural environment! The restaurant offers culinary specialties. Furthermore, you have the opportunity to choose between the stylish atmosphere of the restaurant, with its terrace, or the friendly ambiance of the "Schinderhannes" basement cafe. The restaurant and cafe are both located within the park. Forget about everyday life and refuel with plenty of fresh air while you enjoy a game of tennis as this place is a favorite with tennis players. At the "Casa Olympica" gym (also within the holiday park) you get more than just free access to fitness equipment. Experienced instructors will help you in a professional way learn about fitness. Would you like to relax and enjoy a sauna? Then we recommend the sauna and steam bath in the health and recreational center in Thalfang, situated on the edge of the park (400 m). You also have free entry to the indoor pool of the village (500 m) with its separate child pool and jacuzzi section. In the summer you have free entrance to the large outdoor swimming pool in Morbach as well (about 15 km away). This facility has a large swimming pool, a separate child pool, separate paddling pool and a water slide. In the months of July and August there is an activity team present which provides organized programs for both young and old.

This idyllically situated detached cottage with large terrace has an area of approximately 70 m² and can accommodate 4 persons. The house is located on an extensive area of lush green land and has a lawn of 400-800 m², partly pitched. All accommodations are individually decorated, cozy and comfortably furnished. They all have a living room and bedroom(s). This accommodation has a fully-equipped kitchen, a living room with a dining area and sitting area (with a TV). Furthermore, this type of accommodation has 1 bedroom furnished with a double bed and another bedroom furnished with one bunk bed. The bathroom has a shower and toilet. From the covered terrace, which is equipped with sufficient garden furniture, you can admire the beautiful natural surroundings. Each cottage is located in the immediate vicinity of a private parking lot.

Thalfang is located in the western part of the wooded Hunsrück region. The plateau, with its farmland and valleys, is a true natural beauty which has remained virtually unchanged since time immemorial. For beautiful and cultural diversity visit the sights in the vicinity of the Hunsrück, the Eifel and Mosel, the Saar, the Nahe and the Rhine. Not far from Thalfang you can find a number of ancient strongholds, for example, the ruins of Castle Dhronecken (3 km) in the valley of the small Dhron. And if you're in the twin towns of Bernkastel-Kues on the Mosel (about 20 km) you definitely have to visit the ruins of Landshut Castle. In the vicinity of the park there are also several hiking and wine routes. 35 km (walking) distance away lies the city of Trier which was once the capital of the Roman Empire and therefore is said to be the 2nd Rome. The following cities are also worth a visit: Traben-Trarbach (38 km) is situated in a bend of the Mosel and has a number of artifacts from Celtic and Roman times. In the vicinity of Fischbach (35) on the German Edelsteinstrasse (a few kilometers from Idar-Oberstein), there is a copper mine which in the time of Napoleon was one of the largest known copper mines in Germany. The Peterberg leisure center (Nonnweiler-Braunhausen, 25 km) has a 1-km-long summer toboggan run which invites you to enjoy some sport. With this modern system you just go to the top of the 584-meter-high Peterberg and begin your adventure (but don't forget to brake!) The course contains turns, bends and jumps and offers great fun for both children and adults. Furthermore, there is an exciting show with 30 actors and more than 20 horses. Realistic fights and spectacular special effects make the show a truly impressive event. Wireless microphones and a 1000 watt sound system ensure excellent acoustics for the up to 1000 spectators. Breathtaking nature games, exciting shows and adventures await guests in the more than 750,000 m² Eifelpark. You can also enjoy a variety of wildlife here including bears, ibex and many other wild animals. The potential of this area is too great to mention.
