How to get the most out of New Year's in a Holiday Park

The New Year is a time for new beginnings, resolutions, and celebrations. What better way to kick off the year than by spending it in a holiday park surrounded by nature, fun activities, and a festive atmosphere?

This year, I chose three holiday parks as destinations for different lifestyles and preferences, and I will highlight how to have the time of your life during New Year’s and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Parc Maasresidence Thorn - Chill out in the lap of luxury

This luxury resort perfectly combines opulence and the carefree world of holiday parks. The expansive park boasts an authentic, natural aesthetic seamlessly harmonizing with the surrounding nature and cultural heritage.

The interplay of broad avenues, green spaces, and its distinctive waterfront location collectively fosters a warm and intimate ambiance with an airy and open essence. The waterfront vista exudes a sense of freedom, which means that Parc Maasresidence Thorn provides not only comfort but also a range of luxurious amenities and events, enhancing your stay with an extra touch of brilliance.

I could go on and on about how you should embrace the Burgundian lifestyle or how the park and the town of Thorn are the embodiment of Christmas, but at this point, I would like to offer you a New Year's Eve experience and let you discover the rest for yourself.

First of all, let’s choose a holiday home.

All of the comfy accommodations are decked out with a touch of luxury, geared towards making your stay super cozy. You can opt for fresh linens and a daily tidy-up while every little thing you would need for an awesome holiday is thoughtfully put together, so you can truly soak in the holiday vibes. Whether you're up for a short visit or treating yourself to a longer chill-out, you've got choices – from snazzy villas in different sizes and themes to chill harbor apartments, maisonettes, hotel rooms, and penthouses, all with cool views of the boulevard, the MRT Harbor, and the Maasplassen.

Any of these could be ideal for a New Year’s Eve celebration with friends and family, but this time around, I would like to zero in on the Luxe - 6 Person villa. Why this type specifically? I have a certain preference for 6-people gatherings, because if I am a host, it is the maximum number of people I can truly focus on, and it also makes a great number for shopping trips (a post-NYE shopping spree in Roermond anyone?).

On the 31st of January, create a day full of wonder and serenity, take a walk in the crisp air by the waterside together, go bowling, or have a SPA day. In the Luxe Villa, enjoy the spacious and bright living room, the covered terrace, the luxurious kitchen, the large comfortable bedrooms, and the two luxurious bathrooms.

Share stories and plans, talk about your goals and dreams, and make life happen. After this, you have the chance to fully utilize the deluxe kitchen and create something magical for the evening, or you can take my advice and take a peek at what Humphrey's Thorn has in store just for you.

We might have heard a little something about beef carpaccios, deep-fried salmon rolls, and Italian beef stews, but you should see the full New Year’s Eve menu for yourself and delight in the thought of a calm, nature-centered, and quiet New Year’s Eve.

Vallée Les Etoiles - Spend New Year’s Eve in the Ardennes

Whether you're a couple seeking a quiet retreat, a family with kids, or a group of friends, holiday park Vallée les Etoiles offers all the essentials for a weekend escape or an extended vacation. Nestled in the picturesque countryside, the park features charming wooden holiday homes and a range of extensive facilities.

It is also the perfect destination for dog lovers, the park welcomes our four-legged best friends with open arms a full heart. No huff, no puff, just good vibes in the middle of the Ardennes forest region.

This time around, I would recommend the La Lune Comfort, which is a self-contained chalet able to accomodate up to 6 people, boasting an approximate area of 54 m2. The spacious living area features both a sitting and dining space, complete with a Flatscreen TV and an electric decorative fireplace. The well-equipped kitchen includes a microwave and dishwasher while the chalet comprises of three bedrooms: one with a double box-spring bed, another with two single box-spring beds, and a third with a bunk bed.

On the 31st of January, you can plan your day around a refreshing nature walk, board games in front of the decorative fireplace, and a nice dinner plus some mulled wine enjoyed on the covered terrace. Don’t get up too early the next day! Arrange for a breakfast service with the park and simply pick up your previously selected items the next day. The fresh bread comes directly from a local baker in Hastière, so be prepared to set the table for a fresh and tasty breakfast whilst enjoying the stunning view from your dining table or outdoor terrace!

Don’t let the 1st of January go to waste either, visit Dinant and walk among history, then return to your cozy little chalet and hit repeat on the previous day’s highlights.

Bergvliet Villa’s - blissful harmony between nature and luxury

Bergvliet Villa's stands as a distinctive resort nestled within the historical grounds of Oosterhout's forests. Renowned for its 18-hole golf course and a recently unveiled wellness complex spanning 4,000m2, featuring an array of swimming pools and whirlpools, this opulent retreat is a sanctuary of tranquility, premier golfing, and indulgent Burgundian living.

Brabant's natural landscape beckons you to partake in leisurely walks or cycling excursions, while nearby cities like Breda and Den Bosch offer opportunities for shopping sprees and culinary exploration. The contemporary, sumptuous villas provide the epitome of comfort, allowing guests to momentarily escape the outside world.

It is the perfect place to spend a calm New Year’s Eve sprinkled with sports, SPA treatments, great cuisine, and luxurious accommodations.

Birdie stands as a single-floor house, soaring to a height of 3 meters, featuring two bedrooms with twin box spring beds and two opulent en-suite bathrooms complete with private toilets. This distinctive 90m2 villa is designed in a spacious, single-story layout to comfortably accommodate up to 4 guests. Flooded with natural light, the generous living room boasts floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors that invite the verdant surroundings indoors.

The open kitchen is fully equipped to cater to every need while the partially covered terrace, with its whimsical design that creates a floating illusion, is enhanced by a large table and an outdoor fireplace, making it the perfect setting to embrace the holiday spirit. The contemporary design of Birdie places a strong emphasis on providing a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

The park offers an entire array of possibilities for you to spend your time wisely leading up to New Year’s Eve, and we all know by know that wisely doesn’t mean that you have to exhaust yourself, quite the contrary! Dabble in a relaxing SPA session, sprinkle in some home cooking at your luxury villa or visit one of the many highly regarded restaurants in your vicinity (Restaurant de Proeverij, Restaurant Het Houtse Meer, Restaurant Ripasso).

If none of these tickle your fancy, you can just sit in your airy, bright living room and ring in the New Year by reading a great book, surrounded by your family. The New York Times came out with a selection of the best 10 books from 2023, and I believe them, because they are doing the Lord’s work by reading all the bad ones as well, so we don’t have to!

If you would like to go all out and organize a New Year’s celebration for your entire family and all of your friends, you can do this with the help of Bergvliet Villa's. From the atmospheric Koetshuis for groups of 60 people or more to the cozy tasting room for 20 people or more, they truly offer the perfect setting. You can enjoy their beverage packages, including a warm welcome with a cocktail and delicious bitterballen to celebrate the new year.
